Overview

Here’s the thing about Madhya Pradesh—it doesn’t try to dazzle you all at once. It gives you pieces. One moment you’re staring up at the towering walls of Gwalior Fort, and the next you’re drifting through temple ruins in Khajuraho, wondering how something this old still feels so alive. ...Read More

Itinerary

Day 01Easy Start in Gwalior

  • Arrival at Gwalior Airport or Railway Station
  • Hotel check-in and chill time
  • Optional Light & Sound Show at Gwalior Fort (not included)

Gwalior eases you in. The kind of place where even a quick evening stroll near the fort walls feels like something out of a period film. Want drama? Catch the fort’s light show. Don’t? Grab local street snacks and watch city life glide by.

Day 02Forts and Palaces

  • Breakfast
  • Visit: Gwalior Fort, Jai Vilas Palace, Gujari Mahal, Tansen’s Tomb, Sun Temple, Scindia Chhatris

This is your royal day out. Gwalior Fort is massive, like really massive—perched dramatically above the city. Jai Vilas adds some serious bling with its chandeliers and vintage cars, while the tomb of Tansen (yes, that Tansen) pulls you into the music-laced past.

Day 03Onward to Orchha

  • Breakfast and checkout
  • Drive to Orchha (200 km)
  • Hotel check-in
  • Explore: Orchha Fort, Ram Raja Mandir, Chaturbhuj Temple, Royal Chhatris

Orchha feels like someone pressed pause on time. Grand but sleepy, sacred but grounded. It’s one of the best places to visit in Madhya Pradesh if you like your history with a bit of mood.

Day 04 Water and Fun

  • Breakfast
  • Betwa River rafting (included)
  • Afternoon trip to Garh Kundar Fort

Adrenaline in the morning, lost forts in the afternoon. The rafting’s more fun than hardcore, but it gives your day a good pulse. Garh Kundar is where the crowds don’t go—and that’s the best part.

Day 05Orchha to Khajuraho

  • Breakfast and checkout
  • Drive to Khajuraho (172 km)
  • Optional Light & Sound Show (additional cost)

Khajuraho’s more than temples—it’s atmosphere. Quiet lanes, distant drumbeats, and temple stones catching golden light just before sunset. Settle in.

Day 06Temples and Tales

  • Breakfast
  • Western and Eastern Temple groups tour

Carvings that still raise eyebrows. Stories etched in stone. The kind of ancient art you walk around with half a grin and a lot of questions. These temples aren’t just beautiful—they’re bold.

Day 07Farewell from Khajuraho

  • Breakfast
  • Checkout and transfer to airport/station

You’ll leave with stories—and maybe a new playlist inspired by all that classical music and temple rhythms.
