Overview

If you’ve ever sat with friends late at night and said, “Let’s just go to Ladakh”—this is that plan, made real.

This isn’t the kind of trip where you tick boxes. This is the one where you forget what day it is. From Delhi to Manali, then into Leh, Nubra, Pangong, and out through Kargil and Srinagar—every stretch of road is a chapter. Snow walls, starry nights, tea stalls, altitude, and the kind of laughter that only happens when you’re halfway through nowhere together....Read More

Itinerary

Day 00 Overnight Volvo Ride from Delhi to Manali

  • Depart in the evening from Delhi
  • Settle into your seats, plug in your playlist, and prepare for a long ride toward the mountains
  • Overnight in transit

This is where it all starts. The gear’s packed. The jokes begin. And you’re already halfway gone before the city fades behind you.

Day 01Welcome to Manali: Rest, Breathe, Roam

  • Arrive in Manali
  • Check into your hotel and freshen up
  • Casual local exploration: Mall Road, Hidimba Temple, or just street food and chai
  • Overnight stay in Manali

The first morning in Manali feels like switching off airplane mode—crisper air, slower moments, and a sense of “this is really happening.”

Day 02Manali to Jispa: Into the Wild

  • Cross Rohtang Pass and head toward Lahaul Valley
  • Pass waterfalls, winding roads, and blue rivers
  • Reach Jispa or Billing by afternoon
  • Campfire evening under high-altitude skies

This is the day the city fades completely. As you drive higher, the trees thin, the mountains rise, and the mood shifts into something freer, something real.

Day 03Jispa to Sarchu: Desert, Ice, and Stars

  • Climb past the icy waters of Baralacha La
  • Reach Sarchu and check into tents
  • Stargazing under an open sky, with nothing but silence and cold air

No phone signal. No distractions. Just the raw beauty of Ladakh—and the sound of your own breath, echoing off mountains.

Day 04Sarchu to Leh: Touching the Sky

  • Cross Nakee La, Lachung La, and the dramatic More Plains
  • Drive through one of the highest motorable roads: Tanglang La
  • Roll into Leh just as the city lights begin to twinkle

You’ve earned this arrival. Every pass felt like another level up. Leh greets you like an old friend you didn’t know you were missing.

Day 05Leh to Nubra Valley: Dunes in the Mountains

  • Cross the iconic Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft)
  • Drop into Nubra Valley’s sandy stretch
  • Ride (optional) double-humped camels, visit Diskit Monastery
  • Stay in the valley

Nubra doesn’t make sense, and that’s why it sticks. Sand dunes in the Himalayas? Welcome to Ladakh’s version of a plot twist.

Day 06Turtuk Day Trip: Close to the Edge

  • Early start to visit Turtuk, a tiny village near the Indo-Pak border
  • Meet the locals, walk the apricot fields, learn about Balti culture
  • Return to Nubra for the night

You won’t find Turtuk in most itineraries. That’s what makes it worth the drive. It’s a whisper of a place that somehow says so much.

Day 07Nubra to Pangong Tso: The Postcard Moment

  • Take the Shyok River route—raw, untouched beauty
  • Reach Pangong by late afternoon
  • Watch the lake shift colors with every cloud
  • Camp by the lakeside

Pangong Tso is that moment you imagined when you first searched for Ladakh tour packages. And it’s better in real life.

Day 08Pangong to Leh via Chang La

  • Drive through Chang La Pass, the third highest in the world
  • Stop at Hemis, Thiksey, and Shey Monasteries on the way
  • Reach Leh by evening

It’s the day you want to last longer. Roads that feel infinite, monasteries that feel sacred, and a city that now feels familiar.

Day 09Leh to Kargil: Legends and Landscapes

  • Follow the Indus River
  • Stop at Magnetic Hill and the beautiful Lamayuru Monastery
  • Visit Kargil War Memorial
  • Overnight stay in Kargil

This part of the journey humbles you. The stories carved into these roads are real. And the silence near the memorial hits deep.

Day 10Kargil to Srinagar: Through Time and Terrain

  • Cross Drass—the second coldest inhabited place on Earth
  • Zojila Pass gives you one final heart-stopping drive
  • Arrive in Srinagar and settle into a houseboat or hotel

Srinagar is a soft landing. Water, willows, and the kind of stillness that feels earned after all that altitude.

Day 11Departure from Srinagar

  • After breakfast, transfer to airport

Depart with cracked lips, dirty shoes, full hearts, and a camera that probably ran out of space!

Tips for Group Travelers Going to Ladakh
  • Don’t overpack. You won’t wear half of it. Bring layers, one good jacket, and attitude.
  • Carry cash. Most ATMs in Ladakh are either empty or sleeping.
  • Hydrate like it’s a sport. Altitude sickness is real—water fixes half of it.
  • Start early. Roads close, weather turns, and sunrises are worth the alarm.
  • Offline maps are your friend. 4G disappears when the views get serious.
  • Respect the rhythm. Don’t play music near monasteries or film every moment—some silence deserves to be left alone.
  • Check your meds. Bring altitude pills, motion sickness meds, and a few extras—just in case you become the group doc.
  • Power banks are gold. Plug points are few and far between, especially at camps.
